What’s New & Changing for 2027?

We have a few updates to share about your medical benefits for 2027:

  • New! Anthem Clear Choice Plan: The Anthem EPO is transitioning to Anthem Clear Choice plan, offering high-quality care with a simple, copay-based design. Review the updated plan details on the Medical page. Note that the Garner HRA will not be offered to those enrolled in the new Clear Choice plan.
  • Garner HSA Reimbursement for CDHPs: If you’re enrolled in the PPO Plan, you can be reimbursed up to $1,000 for individuals or $2,000 for families. If you’re enrolled in one of the CDHP plans, you can earn HSA contributions up to $1,000 for individuals or $2,000 for families.

Enjoy higher frame and contact lens allowances, plus free retinal imaging on both vision plans, all at no additional cost to you. Review the updated plan details on the Vision page.

The number of no-cost counseling sessions available through SupportLinc EAP is increasing from 6 to 10 sessions per issue.

This enhancement gives you and your loved ones greater access to confidential support, guidance, and resources when you need them most.

Education Sessions

The Benefits Team will be hosting virtual Q&A sessions, via Microsoft Teams, to answer any questions you may have regarding Open Enrollment and 2027 benefits.

Take Action

This year’s Open Enrollment is a passive enrollment, meaning that your current benefit elections, such as medical, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits, will automatically roll over from the 2026 plan year into 2027. However, you MUST actively enroll if you want to:

  • Make changes to your benefits
  • Add or drop dependents from coverage
  • Contribute to a FSA or HSA

All benefit elections made during Open Enrollment will go into effect January 1, 2027.

Important Reminder

When Open Enrollment ends, you won’t be able to make changes to your coverage until the next Open Enrollment period (unless you have a qualifying event, such as marriage or the birth of a child).
